Woo!
Happy new year everyone!

Planned on having a relaxing evening at home with enveri, but ended up going to a party a friend of ours, Glenn, was having. There was just 6 of us (and a 7th before the night was over), we watched Pirates of the Caribbean on a 64 inch widescreen TV, MST3Kd Clash of the Titans, and played the old board game Dungeon. I hadn't played that since I was 12 ;)

We also ate too much unhealthy food, and I drank quite a bit. But I woke up pleasantly un-hungover ;) Despite the plans for a quiet and early evening, we had an absolute blast at the party, and didn't get home til after 2:30! If Glenn's doing that again next year, I think we'll pester him for an invite. Maybe scare up a copy of the Munchkin game that beerhorse introduced us to.

My new years resolution? To finish my book on music theory (not just reading, but finish til I understand everything in it, and can put it to use without needing to look it up).

Something good: Rum!

Something bad: Where's the rum gone?!

Something disturbing: The Gipsy Kings' version of Hotel California

Current Mood: chipperchipper
Current Music: Cusco - Island of the Galapagos

There's nothing disturbing about that. I fucking hate the Eagles. At least the Gypsy Kings made it sound palatable.

Now, the real important question: Which version of Dungeon was it? There was a more recent version that had such goofy pieces as "the superhero" in an effort to distance it somewhat from D&D.

Hmm, I'm not sure anymore. The one I played as a kid had 4 classes, including the Hero and Superhero, and it had little tombstone pieces you'd use to mark a room as cleared. The one we played last night had 6 classes (Elf, Dwarf, Warrior, Wizard, Paladin, Thief), and no little tombstone pieces. I thought the 6-class one was the later one, but I might be wrong ;)

As long as you were playing the 6-class one AS GOD INTENDED then it's all good :)
