Dear Lazyweb
Earlier this week was my farewell lunch with my former team. They took me to a great local hibachi grill, and we all got stuffed with way too much food. There was a lot of amusing, often crass banter. I'm really gonna miss working with them!

Anyways, in addition to the lunch and a very nice card, they gave me a gift card to CDW! I'm not going to say the exact amount, but it's a very generous one. Trouble is...I have no idea what to get with it! First thought was a computer upgrade (put it towards a new video card, ram, something like that), but...that just doesn't seem right. It should go towards something fun on its own, not just a part of an overall system.

So...I throw myself upon you for advice. Anyone have any suggestions? (Someone already suggested the 30GB iPod Video, which, while nice, I'm not sure I can justify. I did just buy a PDA that can play media files, and large storage cards, so while the iPod would be nicer, it would also be duplication in a lot of areas ;))

New biiiig and flat monitor! That's my call. It makes any system better.

Nothing wrong with upgrading though. Or, you know, asking your lady what she might want. ;)

If you love your personal computer you'll put that money towards a UPS. I know you still don't have one. Okay, I know that's "practical" and not "fun," but having a flaming or browned-out PC is never "fun" either.

For fun and non-usefulness, how about a wireless network-enabled webcam so we can watch you play piano? Or, if that doesn't wind your binder... I can personally vouch for how much awesome can be contained in the Video (Fifth Gen) iPod.
