They've turned off the AC in the office again today. They've been screwing with the system for over a year now...You'd think they could get *something* worked out in that time! (My particular building isn't terribly large...and the nearby larger buildings in The Park are quite adequately controlled)

There's a thermostat on a nearby electrical conduit. The 'current temp' readout on it maxes out at 85 degrees. The needle is pegged past that. I wore a relatively heavy shirt, since last Friday they had the air going full tilt, and it was cold.

It's gonna be a long, sticky day :P

It's amazing, yes ;) This building wasn't built by Abbott, it was bought during expansion of the main Lake County site, and 'renovated' with great efficiency (hah). In addition to the time mentioned to replace the heating/cooling/ventilation, it also took them 7 months to re-tar the roof last year. During that time, it was normal to come into work to find a layer of roof crud over your desk. Oh, and they've evacuated the building 3 times since 2000 (2 floods, 1 gas leak).

I'm just glad we don't house any of the *real* nasty biological agents in this building. It's a lot tougher to sniff out a virus leak than a gas leak ;)
