Completely pointless journal entry!
Yellow jackets. These are about the most beastly creatures on the face of the earth.

It's not that they're a stinging insect. Honeybees sting, and I bear them no ill will. Heck, bumblebees can sting, and I rather like them!

It's not that they're scavengers. Plenty of other insects and other forms of life share this trait, and I personally thank them for it, since I don't particularly want the stuff they eat lying around everywhere.

It's not that they seem irresistably drawn to people. So are mosquitoes, and, while they're annoying, they at least they have a purpose in what they're doing.

No, I hate yellow jackets because they've got a hefty sting, and they know it, and they are gosh-darn determined to milk it for all it's worth. They're the only bug I know that seems to delight in stubbornly dogging and landing on people, just for the sake of watching them squirm and fret.

This rant was brought on because now twice in the past week, I've had a yellow jacket pester me for a couple minutes, then alight on my sunglasses, and climb down the inside of the lense. If this isn't cocky behavior, I don't know what is ;)

Argh. I feel your pain. But then again, I hate every stinging insect, and yellowjackets are very much not the exception. :P

I'd just like to say that that imagine goes very well with that comment ;)

Those nasty black beelike things. (Hey I'm not big on insects in general.) I hate those evenmore than Yellow Jackets... the things have been all over the outside of the house I live in ALL summer, and they are aggressive, open a window, and they sting at the screens!! NASTY things. I empathise about Yellowjackets, but my bad bug is definately wasps!
